Most installation delays begin before the mirror arrives. A simple preparation checklist helps the electrician, installer and customer work from the same plan.
Confirm the final drawing
Record the finished mirror width, height, orientation and mounting position. Mark the centre line, top edge and distance above the vanity. If the design is asymmetric, clearly mark which way is up.
Check the wall
Identify the wall material and make sure it can support the product and mounting system. Note concealed pipes, cables, waterproofing zones and hollow sections. Never drill based only on an assumption.
Position the electrical point
Use the manufacturer's or seller's installation guidance to locate the concealed supply. Confirm voltage, switching and earthing requirements with a qualified electrician. Keep connections accessible for service without leaving them visible in normal use.
Protect clearances
Check taps, backsplashes, shelves, sockets, wall lights, ceiling coves and cabinet doors. Leave room for the mounting movement needed to place or remove the mirror safely.
Prepare delivery access
Measure lifts, stair turns, doors and passages for large mirrors. Clear the work zone, protect the vanity and floor, and arrange at least the recommended number of handlers.
Inspect and test
Before installation, inspect packaging and the mirror for visible transit damage. After mounting, check stability, lighting, controls and the surrounding wall. Keep invoices, written specifications and warranty information together.
